Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Basketball sophomore Ella Subbert knows that the competition inside the Raccoon River Conference bodes well for the long haul.

Subbert is taking over the starting center position from Kelli Storck, who graduated last year. Even though she is a primary post player, she details that she’s been working on stretching the floor with her jump shot, then moving her feet quicker on the defensive end. ADM is apart of the Raccoon River Conference, which features historically competitive teams such as North Polk, Carlisle, and Gilbert. Subbert reveals that playing in the conference gives the Tigers confidence against any team.

“I think that it will really help us in the postseason because we never have an easy game. And so, there’s a lot of competition and it pushes us all year.”

She notes that this ADM Team will battle every game they have. Through two games, the Tigers are 0-2 with losses to Norwalk and Des Moines Christian, and will gear up to travel to Dallas Center-Grimes High School on Tuesday, beginning at 6pm.
