The Greene County Medical Center Foundation is offering a way to honor the memories of loved ones this holiday season.
According to the Foundation, people can purchase an ornament that will have the name of a family member, friend or neighbor and displayed on the Tree of Life at the medical center. Foundation Director Nancy Houska says there will also be a special ceremony on December 10th at 12:30pm in the main lobby of the medical center as a heartfelt time for people to come together and celebrate the memories that bind us.
Houska states that the ceremony includes the reading of the names that are on the tree and a time of reflection, followed by dessert. This year’s featured speaker is Mary Jo Koch, who is a licensed mental health therapist and counselor at the medical center with Behavioral Health.
Houska adds that the money from the ornaments go back to the Foundation to help fulfill their mission which is to support the quality and compassionate care that is provided at the medical center. The deadline to purchase an ornament is December 8th and those can be bought at the Gift Garden at the medical center, contact Houska at 515-386-0108 or online by clicking here.
