The Perry Chamber will help kick off the holiday season tonight with the annual Lighted Holiday Parade.

Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti says there’s still time to enter a lighted float or decorated vehicle as no pre-registration is required. Line-up starts at 6 p.m. at the corner of 2nd and Otley, near Oasis Market. Volunteers will be present to help facilitate line-up and the start of the parade.

Kading Properties will help award prizes to the biggest and brightest floats as this year’s presenting sponsor.

The parade starts at 7 p.m. and will travel north on 3rd to Pattee before heading downtown on 2nd Street toward Willis.

Pasutti encourages community members to find a cozy spot to watch the lighted parade.

“For me, it’s just a fun way to kick off the holiday season. I’m always down at line-up, so I don’t always see the crowd growing on 2nd Street until we’ve sent off the parade right at 7 p.m. It’s just so full of joy when I see the streets and sidewalks full of our community coming out to celebrate together. It really is a magical event that I hope everyone can get out and enjoy.”

Santa will be on hand to visit with kids and pose for photos at the Hotel Pattee following the parade. Isaiah Christensen will perform holiday music before Santa arrives at the hotel.
