US Representative Zach Nunn recently met with President Donald Trump to discuss the Fight for Families Act.
Nunn mentions that an executive order regarding the National Foster Youth Institute was signed at that time, and adoption tax credits were also discussed. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio why this is an important topic for him.
“Our journey began with the opportunity to foster two little girls, and they were half sisters who were about to be split up and we were able to bring them into our home. Now they’re adopted and we have just been blessed by them ever since. This is the reality of so many families across America.”
Nunn mentions that this not only helps in providing a forever home for children, but also makes sure that they have a successful path after they age out of foster care. He adds that the act includes a $5,000 tax credit for families that adopt a child from the foster system.
