The final monthly meeting for the Greene County Historical Society is fast approaching.

According to the Historical Society, the annual meeting takes place this coming Friday, December 5th at noon at the Greenewood Community Center in Jefferson. The Historical Society says, lunch will be served, while some of the Greene County High School band students will perform as the entertainment, under the direction of Wes Anderson. 

Organizers say that following the meal will be the installation of two new board members, including Mike Palmer of Jefferson And Jean Walker of Paton. The non-profit organization states that David John will be retiring from the board as well. The cost of the lunch is $12 and those must be reserved by Tuesday by calling 515-386-4408 or contacting a Historical Society member.
