The next Adel City Administrator is coming from the city of Manchester.

According to the city, Timothy Vick has more than 25 years of experience of public administration, including over two decades serving as either a City Manager or City Administrator. City officials say Vick is currently the City Administrator in Manchester, where he has been since 2005. The city states that one of Vick’s major accomplishments while working for the city of Manchester, he oversaw a $45 million infrastructure and utility upgrade through the city’s Capital Improvement Plan.

The city’s personnel committee believes that Vick possesses collaborative leadership and relationship-building skills, has extensive experience in strategic planning, budgeting and financial and organizational management; and has strong communication skills and a proven economic development record of success.

Vick has a masters degree in public administration and a bachelors degree in community and regional planning, both from Iowa State University. He is set to start as the new city administrator on January 12, 2026. Vick replaces Anthony Brown, who resigned as city administrator this past June.
