Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has a fun new group meeting beginning this month.

Youth Coordinator Rachel Muir says that the club is for any youth, not just those in 4-H. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about this new group.

“So SPIN is like a special interest club and our topic this winter slash first part of spring is going to be sewing. We’re doing an introductory meeting from 2-4pm here at the extension office on December 7th.”

Muir mentions that the projects that individuals will work on in the SPIN club will be things that they can submit as an exhibit for the Guthrie County Fair. She adds that the idea for the SPIN club came as a way to introduce topics that some may be interested in, but that aren’t heavily participated in for fair events.
