A head-on collision this past Friday afternoon in Greene County results in one injury.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy, the Churdan and Jefferson Fire Departments and Greene County Ambulance responded to the scene on D Avenue near 140th Street at 2:48pm. The crash report states that a 2008 Ford Explorer that was driven by Dillon Johnson of Fort Dodge was heading south on D Avenue, when his vehicle crossed the centerline and hit head-on with a northbound 2016 Ford Fusion that was driven by Kevin Reiter of Lake City. 

The Sheriff’s Office says Johnson had to be extricated from his vehicle and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and both vehicles were totaled from the crash. Johnson was additionally cited for driving with a suspended license and failure to maintain control.
