As the 2025-26 season is set to begin for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Basketball Team tomorrow, Head Coach Trevor Mickelson reflects on the resiliency his squad showed from last year.

The Tigers had a good run during the 2024-25 season, finishing with an overall record of 22-5, advancing to the state tournament, beating Storm Lake in the Quarterfinals, before falling 66-57 to Clear Lake in the Semifinals to end their season. Despite not reaching their ultimate goal of winning a championship, Head Coach Trevor Mickelson wouldn’t trade those moments for anything. The positive aspect that he points out is that many players had an opportunity to experience state.

“We’ve got a good group of guys coming back (and) a lot of guys that were on that team. And have experienced what it is like to be down in Wells Fargo (Arena) and play in some of those big games, and they know how much it hurts to get so close and to fall short. So we’ve had a really great off season, guys have been working really hard, have had great attendance in the weight room, and our off season workouts, so really excited about this upcoming year.”

ADM will be returning key players such as Trey Bryte, Hudson Shull, and Hudson Lorensen. The Tigers will open the season tomorrow on the road at Dallas Center-Grimes High School at approximately 7:30pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
