A federal lawmaker from Iowa is touting a win for farmers after meeting with President Donald Trump last month.

Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative Zach Nunn says he met with the President and gave him feedback on putting some materials on a US Critical Mineral List, which helps farmers upfront with input costs for fertilizers.

“It’s helped drive down the cost for some of these things that candidly China’s got a chokehold on. It’s things like phosphate, things like potash, the core ingredients that help us get the fertilizer that farmers need in the spring, and all throughout the summer as we lead up to harvest season.”

Nunn adds that he is also working with the Trump Administration to garner interest for biofuels with year round E-15 gasoline, continuing to allow for federal tax credits for biofuels with 45z in the federal tax code and utilizing crops for sustainable aviation fuel.
