Jacob Hoadley, Greenfield, was stopped waiting for traffic to turn on N Ave near 330th Street. Harrison Desmarais, Des Moines, was stopped behind Mr. Hoadley. Merlin Johnson, Panora, was traveling behind those two vehicles. He failed to stop for traffic and rear ended Mr. Desmarais, who in turn hit Mr. Hoadley’s vehicle. Mr. Johnson was the only person taken to the hospital for evaluation of any injuries. Mr. Hoadley’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage and was able to drive from the scene. Mr. Desmarais had an estimated $8,000 damage and was towed from the scene. Mr. Johnson had an estimated $10,000 and was towed from the scene. Mr. Johnson was issued a citation for Failure To Provide Proof Of Financial Liability and Failure To Stop In Assured Clear Distance.
Nov. 26
Laura Black, Dexter, was traveling in the 16000 block of Old Hwy 6 when she hit a deer. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $5,000.
Cynthia Fox, Bagley, was traveling on 120th St at D Ave when she lost control and slid into the ditch. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $10,000.

Steven Morris, age 62, 280 S. 79th St, West Des Moines, was arrested for Operating While Under The Influence.
Nov. 28
Jackson Ray, age 18, 6830 Gables Way, Johnston, was arrested for Possession Of Controlled Substance and Use Of Dangerous Weapon In The Commission Of A Crime.
Jared Smith, age 33, 3822 S. Broadway, Englewood, Co, was arrested for Reckless Driving, Failure To Obey Traffic Control Device, Harassment Of Public Official Or Employee, Failure To Use Headlamps When Required, Speeding, Driving On Wrong Side Of Two Way Highway, No Valid Driver’s License, Criminal Mischief 5th Degree and Eluding. Mr. Smith was also involved in an accident during this incident. He was traveling at a high rate of speed at 24000 block of 240th St when he went through a yard and struck a fire pit in the backyard. Damage to Mr. Smith’s vehicle was estimated at $8,000. Damage to the property was estimated at $100.
Tracy Raske, Colfax, was driving on W Ave at 190th St, when he swerved to avoid an animal in the road and slid through the intersection and into the ditch. Mr. Raske was checked at the scene by Granger EMS and released. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Christopher Carstarphen, Perry, was stopped at the stop light at 1st Ave and Hwy 141, when a vehicle driven by Rosendo Galvez Cohetzaltitla, Perry, slid on the ice and hit Mr. Carstarphen’s vehicle. Mr. Cohetzaltitla then left the scene. No injuries were reported and damage to Mr. Carstarphen’s vehicle was reported at $1,500. Damage to Mr. Cohetzaltitla’s vehicle was estimated at $500. Mr. Cohetzaltitla was issued a citation for Leaving Scene Of Accident and No Valid Driver’s License.

Abouhorira Abdeljabar Khatir, Aurora, Co, was driving on I80 near the 104 mile marker when he lost control in the weather and slid into the cable barriers. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $10000.
Tristan Johnson, Madrid, was traveling in the 1900 block of Hwy 17 when he lost control and went into the ditch, rolling it into the ditch. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $10,000. It was left at the scene to be towed later.
Louden Foster, Stuart, was traveling in I80 near the 102 mile marker when he stated a semi merged, cutting him off and he slid into the cable barriers. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $5,000 to the vehicle. The vehicle was left due to a tow ban.
Awet Gebreyosus, Tukwila, Wa, was driving a semi in the 13000 block of Hwy 44 when he went into the ditch due to road conditions. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $10,000. Damage to a utility pole was estimated at $4,000.

Brandon Willis, Aurora, Co, was driving on I80 near the 104 mile marker when he hit a patch of ice and slid into the cable barriers. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $2,000.
Jennifer Seitz, Keokuk, was driving on I80 near the 104 mile marker when she hit a patch of ice and slid into a mile marker post while sliding into the median. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $1,500. A tow truck pulled the vehicle from the median and the driver was able to leave the scene.

Scott Hansen, age 50, 311 W. 1st St, Bouton, was arrested on a warrant for Domestic Abuse Assault and Contempt-Violation Of No Contact Order.
Samantha Rodriguez Diaz, Council Bluffs, was driving on I80 near the 101 mile marker when she took evasive action to avoid another vehicle she thought was going to collide with her car. When she did, she went into the ditch, striking a speed limit sign. No injuries were reported and the vehicle had an estimated $3,000 damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
