The Perry City Council met in regular session on Monday.
The meeting began with the Oath of Office being administered for recently elected officials, including Mayor Dirk Cavanaugh and council members John Andorf, Vicki Klein and Jeremy Mahler. Andorf’s term will start immediately as he was elected to fill a vacancy, while the other three terms will take effect starting January 1.
During the organizational portion of the meeting, the council approved resolutions setting the time and place of regular city council meetings that conflict with holidays in 2026, appointing a newspaper for official publications and notices and making council appointments for various positions and committees as presented along with financing of a project to be undertaken by the City of Perry and accepting an offer from the Iowa DOT for the reconstruction of the Warford Street Bridge.
