The final scheduled pesticide applicator training at the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be held next week.
Program Director Shelby Van Horn shares that they will be holding the training for pest control operators (7A, 7B, 7C, 8) on December 10th. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that these training sessions are important because they are a yearly requirement to keep up on certifications.
“Like I said, just maintaining their license. If you miss continuing education for a year, you will be required to retest and so a lot of our applicators um know the importance of making it to one of these sessions and we’re here to help you get that taken care of and get that done so that you can stay on the course and not have to retest for those trainings.”
Van Horn mentions that while this is the last scheduled training, individuals can contact the Extension office in Guthrie Center to schedule for aerial application and greenhouse pest control. For the pest control operators training, registration cost is $70 before December 10th, and $85 the day of the class.
