
Mustang girls wrestling took to the mats at the Woodward-Granger duals and won all of their matches for a sweep to earn first place on Monday night.
In the first dual, DCG faced off against the host of the evening, Woodward-Granger. Each side had to forfeit a few matches, but every other match ended in a pin. The Mustangs took that first meet by a score of 48-30. In their second dual of the day, DCG went up against PCM Monroe and handled them easily with a score of 60-18.
North Polk and Clarke Community were the next two opponents, and DCG dropped 54 points on them both for another two victories. Georgia Edwards, Addyson Bowers, and Ashtyn Jahangir had three pins in total on the night. Nia Kiley, Sharla Benning, Sabrina Macke, Meredith Opoku-Sekyere, Jenah Gray, and Maddie McMullen all had two.
With a clean sweep, DCG placed first at the quad-dual. The Mustangs’ next meet is with the Norwalk Warriors at home tonight in the Meadows Main Gym.
