The AC/GC Chargers basketball teams are preparing to defend the home court once again tonight.

The Chargers girls team is sitting at 2-0 on the season, and ranked 8th in Class 2A. They’ll be facing another 2-0 team in the Woodward-Granger Hawks. The two teams have faced each other a total of 32 times, splitting the series 16-16. AC/GC has won the last 11 straight games though, and will look to continue that streak. Senior Camdyn Richter is leading in scoring, averaging 14 points, while junior Stella Largent leads in rebounds with 8.5 per game, and freshman Jerzee Huss leads in assists with 3.5 per game.

For the boys team, they’ll be looking to bounce back after falling 69-61 Tuesday night. The Chargers and Hawks have gone head to head 31 times, with AC/GC taking the series 16-15, and having won eight of the last 10 games, including both last season. Senior Joe Crawford leads in scoring and assists, putting up 23 points and dishing three assists. Freshman Reece Emgarten leads in rebounds, hauling in six boards while junior Preston Kent also leads in assists with Crawford, helping on three baskets as well.

The girls game begins at 6pm, with the boys to follow. The Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will broadcast the game live on the KKRF2 online livestream, and the KKRF2 free mobile app.
