Dallas Center’s Hometown Christmas has something for everyone to enjoy during today’s event.
Lezlie Ellerman, who chairs the Christmas event with DC Celebrations, says the festivities will kick off with Donuts with Mrs. Claus this morning at Sugar Grove Goods.
She points out the bulk of the activities will take place following the Beta Sigma Phi Holiday Home Tour. The tour will feature five homes from 12-4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Roy R. Estle Memorial Library or Board & Batten.
Ellerman says families can check out the Friends of the Library Basket Auction, Elf Station or a Winter Wonderland photo opp at the Roy R. Estle Memorial Library from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
She details that various businesses along Walnut Street will also be offering activities throughout this afternoon, including a popcorn bar at Board & Batten, Candy Canes and Curls with Studio S, make and take ornaments at Walnut Street Flowers and more.
She states that Santa will be making a return visit to The Hatton from 3-5 p.m. Additionally, Ellerman says families can enjoy hot cocoa and crafts inside or take horse drawn carriage rides outside.
She notes that those looking to warm up can enjoy a free-will soup supper at the Dallas Center Fire Department from 4-6 p.m. or check out nativity scenes at the Methodist Church before heading to Heritage Park to sing carols. Santa will help flip the switch for the town tree at 5:15 p.m.
