Today is the final opportunity for families to venture out to Clover Hall for the Jefferson Matters Winter Festival.

Jefferson Matters Director Matt Wetrich says from 9am-1pm there are crafts, a scavenger hunt, a sock skating rink and everyone who attends is encouraged to vote for their favorite of 40 decorated trees. He points out that there will be a “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree” award for the winning entry and there will also be a kid vote too.

Wetrich expresses his gratitude for all of the individuals that took time to put this annual holiday-themed event together.

“We appreciate all of our volunteers that are really putting a lot of work into this. Chris Heisterkamp is always a huge cheerleader for this, and a huge go-getter, and really passionate about the decorations, and the decor, and the vibe of it all, and a master planner, (and) the layout. She’s got this great plan where we can lay things out and move it around on paper. And then, this year Sherry Palmer and Kelley Gray are co-chairing the committee too. So everyone involved is really dedicated to this and passionate about something that’s fun and free for the community.”

Wetrich adds that everyone can also enjoy free hot chocolate and other treats as well.
