Clarke Community won both divisions of their Baker Games bowling tournament on Saturday afternoon in Osceola. Greene County was second in both. Baker games are played with five bowlers on each team with each bowler rolling two frames per game.

The boys from Clarke had 3,122 pins, well ahead of Greene County’s 2,638. Mt. Ayr was third at 2,199, just ahead of the 2,198 rolled by Lenox. Clarke’s girls totaled 2,323 pins with Greene County at 1, 613, Lenox 1,518, and Mt. Ayr didn’t have enough girls for a team score.

An addition that Clarke had was the top two teams played a “Best of three of five” for the top two teams. Greene County won that portion of the day vs. Clarke on the boys’ side by scores of 235-179, 172-196, 202-204, 201-191, and 222-181. Clarke downed the Rams in the girls best of three with the Rams falling 91-179, 121-146, and 64-160.

Coach John Woodford and the bowlers had difficulty getting back to Jefferson due to the weather.
