It is another busy week for the Raccoon Valley Radio Caring Christmas Food Drives.
The Big Red and Little Big Red Radios are scheduled to go to seven locations across the three county area where people can make non-perishable food or monetary donations that will stay in that community where the food drive is happening and will be donated to those respective food pantries. Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC) Manager Shirley Haupert says the food pantry in Jefferson is seeing an average of 800 people per month, but the holiday season tends to bring on even more.
“Especially at Christmas time. They’ve got more people, the kids are home for two weeks, probably. And so they’re going to need some extra food to feed these mouths.”
Additionally, during each remote broadcast this week with Raccoon Valley Radio is also a chance for people to enter their names for the Christmas Cash Giveaways of $1,000 for each of the three stations, including KDLS in Perry, KGRA in Jefferson and KKRF in Stuart.
