Coach Chris Nelson’s Greene County High School boys’ basketball team lost a non-conference contest in Audubon last night by a 70-58 final. The game was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com and the Rams are now 1-3 with three straight losses while the Wheelers’ record is 1-3 after they broke a three game losing streak of their own.

The Rams did not score in the first three minutes of the first and third quarters. After trailing 9-0 in the first 90 seconds and 21-8 after one quarter, the Rams climbed to within 26-22 at halftime. Falling behind by 16 at the end of the third quarter, the Rams were out scored 26-14 in that frame. Four of the eight three-point basketball the Rams made in the contest came in the last eight minutes. The closest Greene County came to the Wheelers was eight points. Turnovers were an issue for both teams with 29 by the Rams and 25 from the Wheelers.

Three Audubon players were in double figures with 16 each from Brody Schultes and Austin Christensen, and Carson Wessel added 13 points. The Rams had 13 points from Broc Stream, 11 by Carter Hinote, and 10 off the bench for Zack Stalder.

Greene County has two girl/boy doubleheaders later this week in Jefferson.
