Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has an important event at the end if the month.
Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that anyone looking to show beef animals at the Adair County Fair or Iowa State Fair in 2026 will need to attend the beef weigh in later this month. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that exhibitors can get a lot of information and help to make sure they’re ready for show time.
“If you need retinal images done for (Iowa) State Fair nomination, let us know so we can get those planned as well. Those will be at $8 a head for that. So reminders with the beef weigh-in, don’t forget to log into 4-H online if you’re a 4-H-er or fair entry if you’re a FFA member to get your animals identified by February 1st.”
Savage mentions that the event is also required to participate in the Adair County Fair, and that the retinal imaging is required to participate in the Iowa State Fair.
