The Adel City Council met in regular session on Tuesday.

The meeting began with the Oath of Office being administered for recently elected officials, including Mayor Timothy Crannell and city council members Nate Hawkins and Eric Trout.

Certificates of appreciation were also given to outgoing council member Jodi Selby for her eight years of service and outgoing Mayor Jim Peters, who served for 38 years.

Items on the agenda that were approved included parks and recreation board appointments and a real estate donation agreement with the Nature Conservancy. 

Other items that were approved included resolutions for an agreement for 2025 and 2026 public improvement contract proceeds, declaring an official intent to reimburse the city for certain original expenditures paid in connection with specified projects and additional compensation for the deputy city administrator during vacancy in the city administrator role.

The council then went into a closed session for pending litigation.
