The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday morning.

The Board first heard from Midwest Partnership Director Brenda Dudley, who shared that the group had the idea to have a White Pole Road relay race, starting in Dexter and heading all the way to Adair. She mentioned she had discussed with Sheriff Matt Harmann, and that he had said it would be something his department could help with in terms of road safety. Some concerns that Board members had were closing the entire stretch of White Pole Road as it’s a market to market byway, and through discussion brought up the idea of a poker run. No action was taken.

The Board then heard from Human Resources Director Jamie Lindsay, and approved a change to the county employee handbook regarding the starting effective date for health insurance, then tabled a decision on the motor vehicle policy to have Lindsay do some more research on it. They then approved the final plat of the Calmer Subdivision, before discussing emergency medical services as an essential service.
