With the holiday season in full swing, there are a couple of activities in Jefferson that people can take advantage of.

Jefferson Matters Director Matt Wetrich says tomorrow is the Hometown Holiday Hop where several participating businesses will remain open until 7pm, with the goal of maximizing ways to reach more people to do their Christmas shopping locally. He describes another way that some retailers are inviting people into their spaces tomorrow.

“Several of them have fun photo opps, as well. Bring friends, take some fun pictures at some of these fun, creative photo opportunities around our community and give you an excuse to go out and do some fun shopping locally and celebrate the seasons right here in town.”

Additionally, Wetrich notes there is a direct way for kids to connect with Santa Claus as well with the Letters to Santa mailbox that is stationed outside of Warm Wishes on the northeast corner of the downtown square.

“Highly recommend dropping a letter off and they will get a letter back from Santa, if they do that at that particular spot. So, definitely do that here over the next week or so.”

Wetrich adds that letters should be in envelopes with a return address, but no stamps are required. He says the deadline for the letters to be put into the mailbox is December 16th.
