There’s Greene County and Glidden-Ralston non-conference girl/boy basketball tonight from Jefferson on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The Rams and Wildcats are playing a non-conference twin bill for the third straight year. The Wildcats have won both girls’ games while the boys’ teams are 1-1 against each other. The 2024 boys’ contest saw the Rams trail by 21 points early in the third quarter, then stage a huge comeback and win the game, one of just four victories for Greene County.
This season Greene County is 2-2 in girls’ basketball while G-R is 3-1 with a three game winning streak. On the boys’ side, the Wildcats are 0-4 and the Rams are 1-3. The two early season wins are the most victories for a Greene County girls’ team since the 2022-23 campaign. Entering this season the Rams had just two combined wins during the previous three seasons. Senior Becca Anderson is back after playing just a handful of games over her sophomore and junior seasons due to transfer rules and reconstructive knee surgery. Anderson is the Rams’ point guard and by far the leading scorer for head coach Tori Ogden at 18 points per game.
