Every weekend since the weekend after Thanksgiving in November, there has been measurable snowfall across the Raccoon Valley Radio area and one city of Jefferson official is thankful for the large number of employees dedicated to removing it.
City Administrator Scott Peterson expresses his gratitude to all of the Public Works Department crews for their tireless effort to keep the roadways safe and passable after each snowfall event this season.
“Our crews, they do a fantastic job with it and know that they do get after things very, very quickly, and the streets are open, and can be traveled so that you know you can make it to work the next day. Really (I) just applaud the efforts of our staff and really just kudos to everybody that’s been involved with that.”
The National Weather Service anticipates two to four inches of snowfall that started overnight and is expected to tamper off later this afternoon. Peterson asks residents to help out the Public Works Department by making sure their vehicles are off of the roadways until the snow stops falling and the snow has been removed from curb to curb.
