
Farmland values in Iowa saw a slight increase this year.
According to the Iowa State University Farmland Value Survey, Iowa’s overall average farmland value had another increase in 2025 of 0.7% compared to 2024, with the price per acre of farmland valued at $11,549.
Locally, Greene County saw about a $93 decrease per acre from 2024 to 2025 to $12,557. Dallas County saw a decrease of $119 per acre from 2024 to 2025 to $11,883. Finally. Guthrie County increased from $10,896 per acre in 2024 to $11,055 in 2025.
The survey includes reports from licensed real estate brokers, farm managers, appraisers, agricultural lenders, county assessors and other agricultural professionals. The factors that were mentioned by respondents that were positive included limited land supply, cash and credit availability and strong yields. The main negative factors included lower commodity prices, long-term interest rates and tariffs and trade uncertainty.
