The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

The Board heard construction updates about the Dallas County Courthouse renovation project and a comprehensive plan.

The Board also heard fiscal year 2027 budget funding requests from multiple agencies, including the Dallas County Library Association, Dallas County Fair Board, Dallas County Local Housing Trust Fund, Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency, Aging Resources, Greater Dallas County Development Alliance and New Opportunities.

The library association requested a total of $200,000 while the fair board asked for an increase in funding from $45,000 to $50,000. The housing trust fund requested $10,800 from the Board. HIRTA asked for a 2% increase, or $51,765, in operating assistance for fiscal year 2027 along with a $10,250 local capital match to help replace an aging bus.

Aging Resources requested an increase in reimbursement rate to $4.25, which would be capped at $121,984. The development alliance asked for a continued investment from the Board in the amount of $180,000 while New Opportunities requested $10,500.

Items on the agenda that were approved included an Iowa Department of Transportation agreement for Highway 6/169 detour onto local roads and Board appointments. The Board appointed Scott Hall to the Dallas County Conservation Board, Monte Button and Kim Chapman to the Board of Health and Vince Janke to the Washington Township Trustees.

The meeting ended in a closed session to discuss confidential records and the purchase of real estate.
