The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Basketball Teams took care of business in Bondurant on Tuesday, with the girls winning 52-42, and the boys were victorious 78-49, staying undefeated.
The girls game was tightly contested throughout the four quarters, as the Tigers scored the first six points of the game, followed by an 11-0 run by the Bluejays in a two-minute span, and led 20-16 at the end of the first. The teams combined for 10 points in the second quarter, and were tied at 23 at the halftime break. ADM notched 14 points in the third to take a 37-33 advantage into the fourth quarter. With five minutes remaining, the game was tied at 40, before the Tigers ended the game on a 12-2 run to roll onto their third straight victory at 52-42.
ADM was charged by junior Alexis Maxwell and sophomore Ella Subbert, who contributed with 13 points a piece, then it was freshman Macie Leinen with 8 points. Bondurant-Farrar was led by senior Morgan Muller with 12 points, sophomore Tenley Fried contributing with 9, and sophomore Kaylee Hanson, who had 8 points. The Bluejays fall to 2-4 on the season, while the Tigers improve to 3-4.
In the boys contest, ADM came into the match at 4-0, with Bondurant-Farrar at 0-3. The Bluejays got a good start, ignited by junior Drake Pfaltzgraff, who finished with 27 on the night, but the Tigers quickly put their foot on the gas pedal, leading 23-14 after one. ADM tallied 21 more points in the second quarter to take a commanding 44-26 lead at the half. The second half was all Tigers, accumulating 34 points to cruise to a 78-49 win.
ADM had three players in double figures with senior Trey Bryte, who led the way with 20 points, then senior Hudson Lorensen with 19, and senior Hudson Shull with 12 points. Bondurant-Farrar’s Pfaltzgraff charged all scores with 27, followed by senior Jasper Wilson with 10 points.
The Bluejays fall to 0-4, while the Tigers stay unblemished at 5-0. Bondurant-Farrar will host Boone on Friday, as ADM will have one final game until the winter break on Friday, in Huxley against Ballard.
