An organization with the Paton-Churdan School gained community support for an effort to help those less fortunate.
The P-C National Honor Society recently held their toy drive to give to two organizations. Advisor Libby Towers says their group collected toys for the Story County Salvation Army gift distribution and they also contributed to the Toys for Greene County Kids program. Principal Annie Smith is pleased with the donations that the NHS students make, while helping people in multiple counties, including here in Greene County.

“Being able to serve, and we know that it’s a need, Sherry (Graven with Greene County Adopt-A-Family) does a great job (and) Teresa (Lansman with Greene County New Opportunities). But being able to contribute towards that greater, bigger picture, it’s really fulfilling for everybody.”
Towers believes this was their most successful toy drive that they’ve had in recent years. She adds that NHS has been helping with the Story County Salvation Army for over a decade and the toy drive started after seeing a need for toys for older kids.
