As the West Central Valley Basketball Teams enjoy their holiday break, the girls and boys have racked up some wins in their first seven games.

For the Wildcats girls, they are 2-5 so far on the season (2-4 inside the West Central Conference), with two victories against Ogden and Madrid, and then losses to Creston, AC/GC, Des Moines Christian, Panorama, and Earlham. WCV is led in scoring by junior Ella Belden, who has 37 points, followed by sophomore Zoey Reicks with 32, and junior Addilynn Richter who has 29 points. Senior Macy Long has the most rebounds on the team with 36 and 13 blocks on the defensive end.

On the boys side, Wildcats are 4-3 (3-3 WCC), as their wins are over AC/GC, Ogden, Panorama, and Red Oak, then defeats to Des Moines Christian, Earlham, and Madrid. The Wildcats’ top leading scorer is senior Kade Wilson with 70 points, then it’s junior Colton Lindsay, who has 66, and junior Garrett Wolfe with 38 points. 

WCV is currently on winter break, then will return to the court on January 5th, traveling to Nodaway Valley High School.
