The December portion of the Greene County High School wrestling schedule ended on Saturday for the Greene County Rams. Coach Zach Beekman’s team was fourth in a 10 team field at the Carroll Invitational. Coach Beekman took just 10 wrestlers, so there were four open weights for the Rams. All but two Rams had at least one victory at Carroll and the Rams crowned two champions. Juniors Brennan Jacobs at 106 lbs. and Degan Miller at 165 both won individual titles.

Both are ranked in the top 12 by IAwrestle with Jacobs number six and Miller number 12. Jacobs stands at 13 wins and just one loss at the break while Miller is 11-3. Other Rams with winning records this month are junior Jaron Jacobs (120) at 11-4, freshman Kading Winters (132) 10-5, and junior Mason Haley (285) 9-8.

The Rams are 1-7 in dual meets and the inability to fill all or nearly all 14 weight classes is one reason why.
