It’s the break for the Holidays for Iowa high schools and we take this opportunity to look at some of the numbers put up by the Greene County Rams in girls’ basketball. Coach Tori Ogden’s team is 2-6 on the season and 1-4 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference games. The Rams won two of their first three contests and entered the break on a five game losing streak.

The record may be considered modest, but there is improvement in several areas from the recent past. Greene County won just two games combined in the previous three seasons, and went 0-23 in 2024-25. The victory at Ogden on Dec. 1 broke a 28 game losing streak and the HOIAC losing streak of 18 games was snapped with a two point win on Dec. 2 vs. Perry. Two victories in 24 hours after just two in three seasons!

The Rams waste little time playing in 2026 with a Jan. 2 HOIAC girl/boy doubleheader in Dese Moines at Saydel. Those games will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
