
Cate Erickson has been on a tear throughout the first part of the 2025-26 Jayettes wrestling season, wrapping up 2025 with a 23-2 record in the 130 pound weight class. Erickson’s dominate run continued into the Jayettes last meet of 2025 in Fort Dodge, with Erickson going 4-0 to claim the 130 pound championship.
Erickson began the meet facing off against Kaylee Collins of Eagle Grove, defeating Collins by fall in 2:47 seconds. Erickson advanced to the semifinals with a victory by fall, to face off against Kiah Villarreal of Algona, defeating Villarreal by major decision 14-1. In the battle for first place and the 130 pound championship, Cate faced off against Carleigh Arjes of Mason City, picking up another victory by fall in 3:18 seconds.
Erickson wraps up 2025 with another first place finish, and looks to keep the same momentum in 2026 with an impressive 23-2 overall record.
