Chase Perrin came off the bench last season and got good minutes for head coach Joel Rankin, and made key shots for DCG as a freshman. This year, as the number one option, the sophomore has answered the bell.
Perrin averaged six points per game in 2024-2025, but he was more of a catch-and-shoot player who took up residence beyond the three-point arc. So far in the new season, Perrin has taken a massive leap, averaging 17.4 points per game and is a big reason that the Mustangs are 4-2(2-0).
The coaching staff challenged him this offseason to become a better player than he ever thought he could be. Rankin knew the potential he had shooting the ball, but wanted Chase to take the leap defensively as well as in the weight room and become the most complete player he could. It’s safe to say that Perrin has taken that challenge. He is averaging 1.4 steals per game, which is the most on the roster this year. Perrin has been a catalyst for DCG as he has been fired out of a cannon in the 2025-2026 season.
Chase Perrin and the rest of the Mustangs will look to keep things rolling in January of the new year.
