The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library is reminding patrons about their telescope that’s available to checkout.
Director Jerri Hawkins says that those wishing to check it out will need to have a library card. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of the other items that will be available with the telescope upon checkout.
“We have just some general description instructions for you to tell you how to use it, how to carry it, and how to take care of it while you have it at home and are looking at the beautiful night sky. So just give us a stop by, and we can help you get that checked out.”
Hawkins mentions that the telescope program is a great way to introduce astronomy to youth and amateur star gazers. She adds that with clear winter nights, there should be a lot of celestial bodies that can be seen.
