A Waukee Northwest High School student was recently nominated by U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley to a service academy.

Naomi Templeman of Dallas Center has been nominated to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

A Congressional nomination is part of the highly competitive admissions process to the country’s military academies. Grassley nominated 31 Iowa students for placements at West Point along with the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
