Another business on the downtown square in Jefferson has been approved for improvements through a city program.
City Administrator Scott Peterson says the City Council approved a forgivable loan to Doc’c Stadium on the east side of the downtown square.
“You know, an important business there on the square, bar and restaurant business, and Doc’s had approached the city about partnering with us to be able to do some work on the buildings. So this would include roof work, include an HVAC system.”
According to the application, the total cost of the project was just over $72,500, which Peterson explains will be paid for by the city and then the business will be forgiven a portion of the cost over a ten-year time span through a development agreement.
“Really looking forward to a nice little improvement for Doc’s and having Doc’s remain a really good viable business on the square for years to come.”
Peterson adds that the development agreement will come to the City Council for formal approval at a future meeting.
