The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Basketball Team is off to a great start, but Head Coach Trevor Mickelson discusses modifications that can be made to help the group strive to their ultimate goal.

The Tigers are sitting at 5-1 on the season, with wins over Dallas Center-Grimes, North Polk, Carroll, Winterset, and Bondurant-Farrar, then a 54-33 loss to Ballard on December 19th. Head Coach Trevor Mickelson says he’s enjoying the effort he’s seeing so far, and is happy that the bench is deep with many bodies able to contribute. He mentions it’s still early on in the season, and is experimenting.

“Kind of toying with some different things, and looking at different lineups. And so our goal is to have a really good understanding of what our team is and where we’re at once we’ve made it through that first half of playing every team in the conference one time. And so, we’re working on different things and different lineups. What do some of those things look like, what advantages do they give us, and then what challenges would they present for us.”

Mickelson points out that the biggest aspect he’s focusing on during winter break is consistency and keeping the same rhythm ADM had going into it. The Tigers will host a non-conference game versus Van Meter in Adel this Saturday at 4pm.
