With the New Year’s holiday, Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Alex Dinkla reminds drivers to be safe on the road.
He says the Iowa State Patrol partners with the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau and one of the programs they’re offering is rideshare vouchers.
Dinkla says through the Decide to Ride program, Doll Distributing is offering $10 Uber vouchers to help encourage Iowans to make safe decisions.
“That’s our ultimate goal. We want people to get home safely, so if you can phone a friend or get a ride share program with a voucher. Before you go, just have a responsible driver with you so that you can get home safely during this New Year’s holiday.”
The Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau adds that state and local law enforcement will also be conducting extra patrols through January 1 to spread the message about the dangers of impaired driving.
