
The AC/GC Chargers wrestling team has seen much success over the season so far, and the dominance of junior Ryder Cline has helped see to that.
In the first quadrangular match of the season, Cline won his first match over East Union’s Caden Clear by fall at 33 seconds. He then beat West Central Valley’s Lucas McColloch by fall at 1:06, and finished the night with a win over Nodaway Valley’s Ryer Groves with a fall at 1:32. In the second meet of the season, Cline won over Interstate 35’s Mavrick Hutton with a fall at 41 seconds, then Lenox’s Colton Haidsiak with a fall at 42 seconds, and finished the night with a victory over Coon Rapids-Bayard’s Ethan Bauer with a fall at 5:22.
In the first tournament of the season, Cline won over Aurora’s Stone Ott with a fall at 55 seconds, then Creston’s Zadek Engdahl with a fall at 47 seconds. He continued the dominant performance with a win in the semifinals over Riverside’s Bradyn Comstock with a fall at 48 seconds, and took 1st place with a win over Logan-Magnolia’s Wade Hawkins by major decision with a 10-0 score.
In the next meet, Cline won by forfeit against Central Decatur and Earlham, then beat Pleasantville’s Blake Rowson by fall at 1:07. The following quadrangular meet he beat Ogden’s Dillon Moe by fall at 41 seconds, Panorama’s Austin Wagner by fall at 57 seconds, and Southeast Valley’s Colin Johnson by fall at 1:01. Cline finished off the first part of the season at the Carroll Tiger Invitational, taking a bye in the first round, then beating Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson’s Kyler Stewart by fall at 1:05, and taking the championship against Westwood’s Jarett Prichard by fall at 1:31.
