The first full week of 2026 has the Greene County wrestlers in action not once, not twice, but three times. Coach Zach Beekman’s team starts the new year this Monday with a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference triangular in Nevada vs. the host Cubs as well as the Perry Blue Jays. The Rams have already dropped duels to both those teams in Ogden on Dec. 13.

Greene County wrestles on Jan. 6 in Story City vs. Roland-Story and West Marshall (State Center) in another HOIAC triangular, this time it’s make up action that was weathered out on Dec. 11. The Rams are 1-7 in dual meets.

Saturday, Jan. 10 sees the Rams go to Atlantic for the Rollin Dyer Invitational, an event loaded with high level teams and individuals from Iowa and Nebraska. That’s three weigh-ins in six days to get 2026 underway.
