
The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors will meet in regular session today.
The Board is holding their annual organizational meeting, and will consider for approval a chair and vice chair for the 2026 calendar year, as well as consider for approval paid holidays for county employees during the year. They will then consider for approval meeting dates, official publications, and mileage reimbursement.
The Board will also consider for approval appointments to boards and committees regarding Region XII Council of Governments, New Opportunities, the 5th judicial district, planning and public safety, midwest partnership, enterprise zone, Western Iowa Tourism and the Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency. Other board and committee appointments will include South-Central E911, Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, De-categorization Governance, M&M Divide Resource Conservation and Development, Hungry Canyons Alliance, the medical examiner, zoning administrator and general relief and veterans affairs administrator.
The Board will then consider for approval appointments for terms that ended December 31, 2025, which include positions on the Board of Health, involuntary hospitalization board, zoning board of adjustment, zoning commission, conservation board, regional airport authority and civil service commission. There will also be resolutions for consideration, which include appointing members of the 2026 compensation commission, authorizing the auditor to pay fixed charges and other claims without prior Board approval, give the county engineer the right of final acceptance, and the construction evaluation resolution.
The meeting begins at 9am in the Board of Supervisors room in the Guthrie County Courthouse. For those unable to attend in person, there is a digital option available via Microsoft Teams. Raccoon Valley Radio will have results from the meeting tomorrow.
