A utility company in Jefferson recently announced a shift in their cellular carrier.
According to Jefferson Telecom, following the sale of US Cellular to T-Mobile, the company says they will not be making the transition to the national cellular provider. General Manager Jamie Daubendiek says the changes that the cellular industry has had in the past several years have made it more difficult to partner with large national carriers and he does not see a path forward with T-Mobile.
The utility provider states that they are continuing to be a local US Cellular provider where customers can upgrade their phones, receive in-store assistance, among other current services. However, the company points out that they will not be able to process T-Mobile transactions or support T-Mobile accounts.
Jefferson Telecom will continue its partnership with US Cellular that will eventually end in 2026 and Daubendiek assures their customers that they are a stable and strong organization that will stay a viable company.
