DCG boys basketball has two of the tallest players in Class 4A in Brody Burke and Luke Lorenzen, and they are both big keys to this team’s success.

Senior Luke Lorenzen and Junior Brody Burke are the center and power forward for the Mustangs, and have been instrumental in the winning formula for Joel Rankin and company. Lorenzen, at 6’10”, is often the tallest man on the court, and he has taken advantage with 39 total rebounds in five games, which averages out to 7.8 per game. Limiting second-chance opportunities for their opponents has been critical for the Mustangs this season, and Lorenzen does that better than anybody in Class 4A.

Burke stands at 6’7” and is the perfect complement at the power forward position. He averages a respectable 9.2 points per game, which is good for second on DCG, and does his best work in transition. He is one of the faster members of the team and, with his size, is nearly unstoppable when the Mustangs run the fastbreak. Guards look for him first, and when he gets out in front of the pack, he has had grade A scoring chances underneath the basket.

The two towers of power that are Lorenzen and Burke have been paramount to what DCG has found in their last few games, and they’ll look to elevate their play in 2026.
