With the end of the holiday break on the horizon, the Perry Jayettes basketball team prepare for their first game back in 2026, traveling to the Casey’s Center on Tuesday to face off against the South Hamilton Hawks.

Head coach David Morris reflected on the team’s growth throughout the first half of the season and spoke on Kalley Whelchel’s improvements from game one of the season.

“She’s being a little more assertive to the basket. When she can get a pass to the basket she’s trying to get there. She’s actually pretty confident with the basketball as far as playing off the ball and doing the little things of trying to find her teammates when she knows that they’re going to be open.”

Kalley and the Jayettes take the floor again on Tuesday but under the bright light as Perry faces off against the South Hamilton Hawks on Tuesday night. Tip off is scheduled for 6pm with the boys to follow at 7:30.
