An annual program that brings people together socially and for the love of reading starts up next week at the Jefferson Public Library.

Library Director Jane Millard says the Adult Winter Reading Program begins this coming Monday and runs until mid-March. She is keeping the theme under wraps for now, but suggests that it won’t disappoint.

“We will be exploring a different genre of books than we have been before. It’s a nice group of readers that just like to spend time together around a theme, doing activities, reading books and attending programs that are all theme-related. And as far as the theme, the only clue I’m going to give you is there might be gnomes.”

Millard explains that participants can register for free and receive an activity packet that includes lots of different ways people can be engaged with the theme, along with programs to attend. Adults can stop by the library anytime to sign up.
