Paton-Churdan and Woodbine played Rolling Valley Activities Conference girls and boys basketball on Tuesday night in Churdan. The girls’ game went to Woodbine by a 43-34 score, and the boys’ contest was won by the Tigers with a 71-50 final. The P-C girls are 1-7 and the boys are 3-5.

The P-C girls led 23-21 at halftime, then trailed 31-25 at the end of the third quarter. Keaton Owens of Woodbine led her team in scoring with 11 points. The Rockets had a game high 12 points form junior Alivya Smith.

P-C boys’ head coach Josh Cerveny told Raccoon Valley Radio the game was lost in the first half. “We had two guys we were focusing on stopping and both of them scored in the 20’s tonight. He added, “The loss is on me. I wasn’t able to get them to practice hard enough over the break and it cost us. We have to have a short memory. We play Thursday and Friday this week.” Junior Trevon Keely had 16 points with 13 from senior Phoenix Hartman and 11 for senior Cayden Stream. Unofficially, Keely had six rebounds and five steals, and junior Bryce Stephenson hauled in six rebounds. Landon Blum had 27 points and Brody Pryor added 22 points for the Tigers.
