After a snowy start to the season, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to continue to be safe while on the road this winter.

Sheriff Adam Intante says drivers should slow down and leave space between vehicles.

“We have to give everybody space and that means the people behind you and the people in front of you as you’re coming up to intersections, lights or stop signs. Be careful out there, four-wheel drive does not mean four-wheel stop.”

He adds that drivers should also have an emergency kit in their vehicles. Infante details that the kits should include a cell phone charger, blanket, boots and more in case drivers get stuck while on the road.
