The AC/GC Chargers were in action last night, taking on the Tigers of Madrid.
Things started off a bit slow for the girls team, as the Tigers quickly jumped to a 6-3 lead and held it for a while, before the Chargers started making buckets, and the first quarter ended with them leading 16-6 over Madrid. The second quarter saw AC/GC continue to build their lead as they went into halftime up 29-14. The Chargers just continued to pull further ahead, as they ended the third quarter up 44-25, and ended with the 62-35 victory.
In the boys game, the Tigers leapt to an early lead and never looked back unfortunately. The first quarter ended with the Chargers down 14-4, and at halftime the score was 28-9 in favor of Madrid. The third quarter ended with a 53-18 deficit for AC/GC, and the game finished with the 62-20 loss.
The Chargers return to action today, as they hit the road to face the Exira-EHK Spartans in Exira. This non-conference game will be the 10th for the girls team as they face the Class 1A 8th Ranked team, and the 9th game for the boys team. Girls tipoff is at 1pm, with the boys to follow at 3:15pm.
